Awesome creativity used by the Qualcomm team for making the above video, this video that shows the real power of the Snapdragon processors. In this advertisement video named The Bug Circus Generator; few insects are running around and generating enough energy to power a Snapdragon S4 processor. This is the latest processor which is ahead over the existing three different types of Snapdragon processors S1, S2 & S3, these take the very lowest battery and give a long life, lately they have released the S4 mobile System on Chip and provided the white papers of it openly.

All about the new Snapdragon S4:
  • It delivers the first high performance mobile platform to integrate next generation CPU and GPU technology with a high speed 4G world modem.
  • 28 nm process technology to mobile, shrinking both size and power consumption while significantly increasing overall system performance.
  • Snapdragon S4 is designed to power the next generation of high performance, always on, always connected mobile devices by delivering brand new core technology and integrating them together for increased capability and longer battery life.

UPDATE 1: Qualcomm says that the company will launch its quad-core Snapdragon chips, designed for the tabs based on the Windows 8 OS, by the second half of next year.

Software giant Microsoft has said that Windows 8 will work on ARM processors and has chosen Qualcomm, Texas Instruments and Nvidia as initial chip partners. The new S4 chips from Qualcomm will support Direct X 9.3, which will be found in Windows 8 to bring realistic graphics to devices.

UPDATE 2: Qualcomm has launched a bunch of new smartphone processors under the Snapdragon S1 and S4 series. The S4 line of processors are designed keeping in mind the lower design costs, but by introducing 3G and 4G standards to phones that use them.

Qualcomm expects devices powered by these new chipsets to be out sometime early in the year 2012.
